Hey guys! Christmas is almost here! Can you believe it?! This Christmas has been especially fun because some of my kids are old enough to really enjoy it. Besides christmas lights and gifts I think they love all the goodies I've been making like these spiced candied walnuts. We are all seriously in love with these things! They are so yummy and they taste like you're snacking on the holidays. They're also super easy to make maybe only taking 10-15 minutes, so totally worth it!

  • 1 1/2 cups unsalted walnut halves and pieces
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup, grade B
  • 1 tablespoon butter, duck fat or coconut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • Pinch of lemon zest
  • Generous pinch of sea salt

  • Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper, set aside
  • In a mixing bowl combine walnuts, spices, lemon zest and sea salt, set aside
  • Over medium heat combine combine maple syrup and butter in a medium sized sauce pan
  • Cook syrup on stove top until it reaches hard crack stage or 300ºF
  • Immediately add the walnuts throughly mix and spread out on parchment paper line cookie sheet
  • Allow to cool/harden, they can be put in the freezer to cool faster
  • Store in a air tight container in cool space for up to a week
