I love this meal. It's just one of those cozy, homey meals. And what's great is it's so easy to make and it's a great way to use leftover quinoa. I used to love oatmeal and cream of wheat growing up, but since finding out that my body just doesn't like oats or wheat I thought I'd have to live without a nice warm breakfast "cereal". So I'm SO happy this is an option. It's amazing what things you can figure out when you put your mind to it! I love how you it can be changed up too, you can use any sweetener, seasoning, dried fruit, nuts or toppings. Like here I used fresh berries, but I think some nut butter and hemp seeds with dried apples would be great too. Use your imagination and find the combo that you love.

  • 2 1/2 cups cooked quinoa
  • 1 cup milk, we used our homemade hemp seed milk
  • Maple syrup or other sweetener to taste
  • Cinnamon to taste (optional)
  • Nutmeg to taste (optional)
  • Cloves to taste (optional)
  • Sea salt to taste (optional)
  • Raisins or other dried fruit to taste (optional)
  • Walnuts or other nuts to taste (optional)

  • Combine quinoa, milk and maple syrup in medium size sauce pan over low-medium heat on stove top
  • Add seasonings, dried fruit and nuts to taste
  • Keep adjusting maple syrup and spices to your liking
  • Serve warm
