Plum Applesauce

Adds some great color to a holiday table.

I actually intended to make this as baby food, but then we tasted it and decided that the whole family should have it. I guess I want to be feeding my babies things I would want to eat myself anyway. It's especially great for younger kids who are having some issues...moving things along internally...if you know what I mean. It's a great side for our honey herbed duck or roast chicken.


  • 2 fuji apples, cut in quarters with core/seeds removed
  • 3 black plums, cut in half with pits removed
  • Maple syrup to taste
  • Cinnamon to taste (optional)


  • Roast apples and plums skin side down at 350ºF for 30-40 minutes of until they look like they’re bursting
  • Remove from oven and blend in food processor with cinnamon and maple syrup
  • Serve warm or cold, we like it warm
