I know it's getting colder out, but I personally think ice cream goes with every season!
One of the hardest things when we first started cleaning out our diet was giving up ice cream. When I first discovered we couldn't have diary it wasn't a huge deal because there are soy and rice milk options out there. Then when we discovered we couldn't have corn or soy, well...bye-bye ice cream. I had actually given up hope on ever having ice cream again, sad sad very sad day.
Thankfully, I didn't just give up. Although I could accept an ice cream-less world I wanted to be able to offer ice cream to my kiddos. A couple months ago I posted our vanilla cashew ice cream and here's another diary-free ice cream recipe for those who can't have nuts, plus it's easier to make. Best part is it's basically just a banana so I have absolutely no mommy guilt giving my kids ice cream as an afternoon snack. (Or eating it myself!)
1 1/2 frozen banana
1/4 cup frozen cherries
Favorite toppings (optional)
Combine bananas and cherries in food processor and blend until smooth
