"Cheesy" Vegan Cashew Dip

Cheese is one of the biggest things I miss in our new diet. So I'm glad we can have a substitute. We love this as a dip with raw veggies, chips, crackers and in cooked dishes like lasagna. Just a quick note on substitutes: I feel like if I go into trying a substitute expecting it to taste exactly like the real food it's replacing then I'll be disappointed. Where as if I go into thinking it's going to be it's own food that might resemble (some times more than others) the original food then I usually end up being really happy with the end result. So join me in just enjoying food substitutes for what they are. I've never been able to try this since I'm allergic to almonds, but I think rolling this into a ball and coating it with sliced almonds would be an amazing party dip!


  • 2 cups raw cashews, soaked 4-6 hours
  • 1/4 cup filtered water
  • 1/4 fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup nutritional yeast or to taste
  • 2-4 garlic cloves
  • Pinch sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (optional)


  • Combine everything in food processor¬†
  • Blend until smooth or until desired consistency is reached
