As you know we love apples. My girls love apples, especially when we cut them in half so they can see the star inside, because what's not special about that! I was about to do a routine meal with the ground turkey in our fridge when I looked over and saw our girls munching on their apples and it hit me, why had I never tried to put apples in burgers? It didn't give the burgers an overtly apple taste it more gave it a bit of sweetness. It wasn't too sweet either, which was nice because an overly sweet burger doesn't sound too appealing to me personally. My girls loved them and as an extra bonus they ate all their broccoli too!

  • 1.5 pounds ground turkey
  • 2 small broccoli florets, diced
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1/2 gala apple, diced
  • 1-2 tablespoons oil/fat of choice
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary (optional)
  • Sea salt/pepper to taste

  • In skillet sauté broccoli, onion, apple and rosemary in oil/fat for 10-15 minutes on low-medium heat or until tender
  • In a large mixing bowl combine uncooked ground turkey and broccoli, apple mixture, add salt pepper to taste
  • Form into 8-9 medium-sized patties
  • Lightly grease the bottom of a large frying pan and put on low-medium heat
