Thieves oil

Getting your house clean and to smell holiday ready at the same time!

Hi guys I need to talk about something before today’s post. I have really been struggling with my health lately. And it’s been taking a lot out of me. I’ve been having to let go of things so I can take care of myself and my family. While I don’t want to stop blogging forever, I know I need a break. So I’m going to go on a break for the rest of the year and possibly January too. To give myself more time to rest and focus my energy on the things that are most important. And of course some time to work wth my doctor and see if I can get some answers. And for anyone wondering if all this clean eating has helped at all: Yes! It has! Many of my symptoms diminish or disappear completely when I eat a healthy real foods diet. But there’s still more that I have to figure out. That’s it guys I hope you have a great Holiday season and “see” you all next year!

(Also, I ask for you’re patience with any technical issues, like receiving emails even when there’s not a new post. I hope to be able to have all those things fixed!)

Okay to the post: the title of this post is a bit misleading, since I don’t use the actual thieves oil brand, but it was around $30 on Amazon and health shield is under $10, but they’re the same thing. They’re a combination of 5 essential oils: lemon, eucalyptus, cinnamon, cloves and rosemary that from what I’ve read thieves in the olden days would rub on their bodies to protect themselves when raiding dead or diseased people’s homes. Basically it’s really great at fighting germs and even better it smells SO good!

I actually decided to share it now before the holidays because this stuff smells like the holidays! It has a lot of great uses. All you have to do is mix it with water and you can use it as an all-purpose cleaner, window cleaner, hand sanitizer, room freshener, etc. Just stick to the ratio of 1 ounce water to 1 drop health shield, pour it in a glass spray bottle and you’re set.

Although most people just mix it with water I like to add some witch hazel too. Use this mixture with newspaper for streak free windows! For every 8 ounces of water/8 drops of health shield add 1 tablespoon of witch hazel.

Or mix with a carrier oil and rub on your feet to help fight colds and flus away. Check this article out for how to dilute essential oil into a carrier oil here.

Happy cleaning!
