DIY Natural House Cleaners

November 18, 2016
So you can have a naturally clean house that's ready for company.

I was going to share this around spring cleaning time, but then it hit me how much cleaning goes on around the holidays in preparation for all the company coming over or after all the cooking.

I pretty much just use two main ingredients to clean: baking soda and diluted vinegar. They work wonders in every room! Sometimes I’ll add a couple drops of lemon essential oil to my spray bottle full of 1/2 vinegar 1/2 water. And a bit of baking soda with a good sponge or microfiber cloth goes a long way to get rid of grime in tubs, on stovetops or even on those tough stains on dishes.

For our wood/laminate floors I’ll use a 1:1 ratio of apple cider vinegar and water with a microfiber cloth. Although if you have a light wood I’d stick with white vinegar.

Even on pit stains on t shirts I’ll rub in some water/baking soda then spray a little vinegar on top, let it set for about 20 minutes before washing and pit smell/stain is taken care of. (I’ve never tried this on a shirt that was “too far gone”, I’ve just mostly done it as a precaution if it smells after use. But hey my white t-shirts have been staying white!)

So that’s about it guys, baking soda, vinegar and some nice microfiber cloths which you can find here.

Happy cleaning!
